Padma Lakshmi is an Indian- American model, writer and TV personality. Born in Madras, India, in 1970, Lakshmi was the daughter of an Indian father and a European mother. The onetime wife of controversial novelist Salman Rushdie, Padma Lakshmi was also a best-selling author in her own right.
